Hot Date, Geek Girl style!

  • This week I really am at a loss to know where to begin! There are so many cool things going on at the moment (remember it’s all about context people!)  I am jumping out of my geeky little socks with excitement! (neon blue with duck faces on the heel if you were curious!)

Firstly I made it in to the London Rockin' Rollers (londonrockinrollers.co.uk) Fresh Meat programme which made my year and means I will now spend a good proportion of my time being addressed as ‘Wonder Woodman’ and learning some actual skating technique!

In an attempt to get fitter for the new Derby lifestyle, I have been avoiding the local watering holes that were my regular haunts (you can hear the laments of Camden’s publicans...) and instead taking the time to reacquaint myself with an old friend, long neglected.....my Xbox360!

‘Hot Date’ night in the Geek Girl house has consisted of M&S healthy microwave meals, changing into my comfy PJs (or if I am particularly cold, the monkey onesie!), building the bean bag pillow fort and curling up for a good five hours plus of Skyrim! Bliss!

Evidently entering an epic world of barbaric behaviour and dragon slaying (trailer here below for those poor souls who are unaware) has the added bonus of being conducive to a good night’s sleep!

For those of now wondering, no, Captain Awesome and I do not live together. However swap monkey onesie for more alluring attire and little else would change, bar perhaps a token fight for console supremacy! (Which, I would win! Lol)

This week also saw me becoming the proud owner of a new board game called Last Night on Earth (link here for more details http://www.shop.rotdog.co.uk/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=1056). It is an epic game of survival and strategy where if you are playing as humans (you can also chose to control the Zombie hordes!!) you must keep one eye on the timer to see if you can survive the brain chomping masses until the morning when help will arrive. I first encountered this on one of my days of gaming abandon at ‘Brains’ house.

I told you there’d be more from my ‘crack dealer’ and this week saw him tempt my extremely limited willpower with some amazing Star Wars Magic card covers! (http://www.shop.rotdog.co.uk/index.php?searchStr=star+wars&_a=viewCat) Needless to say I bought one of each! Now I have to tear myself away from Skyrim long enough to reorganise my magic decks and decide which ones get the ultra special covers! :D

I am not a teenage boy masquerading! Honest...........
